A Fresh Audio Experience

In March 2016, NPR.org debuted a new audio player that brings audio to the forefront of user experience.  The fully responsive NPR Player lets users continue listening uninterrupted while navigating throughout NPR.org.  Users can easily add audio to their queue and find new NPR programs and podcasts to enjoy.

For brands, Player presents sponsorship activations unlike any other offerings in the digital audio marketplace.

Podcast Halo

Complement and extend an NPR podcast sponsorship with Podcast Halo placements in the NPR Player. 

  • Custom audio promo paired with co-branded 300×600 invites the user to engage with the podcast halo, and reinforces brand alignment
  • If user engages with the promo, 300×100 branded leave-behind stays present while the podcast episode plays
  • The sponsor will have the first mid-roll sponsorship placement in the podcast halo episode
  • Podcast Halo placements are timed to run the week the podcast halo episode is released and for up to a few weeks afterwards

  • Co-branded 300×600 reinforces brand alignment and invites users to click to listen to featured audio
  • If user engage with the click-to-play halo, 300×100 branded leave-behind stays present while the audio content plays
  • Click-to-play functionality lets users choose to play the audio immediately, or add to their listening queue

 

Custom Channels

Align your brand with NPR and with quality, relevant NPR content. NPR will hand-curate a selection of audio stories that resonate with NPR.org users and reflect the ideas of the sponsor’s campaign.
