Michel Martin, weekend host of NPR’s All Things Considered, left nothing off of the table in her interview with Lady Gaga, Grammy-winning artist.
Martin sat down with Lady Gaga to talk about the Oscar-nominated song ‘Til It Happens To You’, the personal experience that helped her decide to take on the project and her Grammy’s tribute to the late David Bowie.
With her signature style, Martin manages to be at once interviewer, challenger and confidant to people who come to her with stories to tell. She hears what is being said, and sometimes what is not being said, and uses her uniquely-personal approach to draw out the story and to ensure that different perspectives are not just heard but understood.
You meet or see a musician that has something that is of another planet, of another time, and it changes you forever. I believe everyone has that, don’t you? -Lady Gaga on David Bowie
Gaga divulged how her love of David Bowie began when she saw the cover of Aladdin Sane for the first time.
I was 19 years old, and it just changed my perspective on everything, forever. It was an image that changed my life.
